2024 Election Information

State Primary Election Tuesday March 5, 2024

Mail ballot packets for the March 5th Presidential Nomination Primary will be mailed to all mail ballot precincts beginning Tuesday, January 23, 2024.

This election is a slightly different compared to other state primary elections. Instead of one ballot style, each major party (DFL, Legal Marijana Now, Republican) has their own ballot style.  Because of this, residents will receive three ballots with their mail ballot packet. You are allowed to only vote one ballot, the ballots you don’t vote can be destroyed.  As a reminder - on the signature envelope you must indicate their party preference, sign, and have your witness complete the witness section including witness name, address, and signature.

Detailed instructions will be included in each packet.

General Election Tuesday November 5, 2024

Elections for Mayor and council members are held in even numbered years. Candidates for these offices must be a qualified voter in the State of Minnesota and must be 21 years of age on the date he or she would take office. Upon filing an affidavit with the City Clerk and payment of the filing fee, the name of the candidate will be placed on the official ballot without partisan designation. The Deputy Clerk administrates elections under the supervision of the City Clerk. The City of Floodwood will conduct elections by mail for 2024.
